Karnataka

Karnataka is endowed with a rich cultural heritage, unique to its land. The handicrafts and textiles are as diverse and rich as the geography of Karnataka. Some of these traditions have evolved through the ages and some have even withstood the challenge of time. The most distinctive attribute of Karnataka handicrafts is that it is produced by using traditional methods that have evolved through ages.

Manipur

The oval-shaped valley surrounded by nine hills gives this naturally made jewel the name Manipur or “The jewelled land”.The birthplace of polo, this melting pot of culture & crafts is known for its traditions, dance forms, music and sumptuous cuisine.Black Pottery (long pi pottery),water reed crafts(kauna), Wood Carving, textile weaving, stone carving, block printing and hand-embroidery, Papier mache, collectible dance dolls, bamboo and cane work are some of the many crafts of this state.

Rajasthan

Rajasthan, a land synonymous with royalty, magnificent forts and majestic palaces is the largest state of India located in northwestern India. One of the most colourful states of India, known for its vibrant and diverse culture, dances, customs and music, this land of Havelis is a treasure trove of handicrafts and handlooms. Some of the most famous craft forms of this exuberant state are Blue Pottery, Mojaris, Meenakari, Kundan, Lac Bangles, Dhurrie, Puppet work and Ivory work.

Bihar

The centre of power, learning, and culture of the then Maurya Empire is none other than the now State of Bihar . The antiquity of this ancient land where India's first major empires rose and fell is evident. Culture in Bihar is a celebration of a history dating back to the Vedic times. Delving into the world of art are Madhubani paintings, which is also known as Mithila painting depicts human beings and their association with nature. Other notable crafts like Stonecraft , Printed Textiles and Sikki work to name a few are crafts unique to Bihar. Humble blades of Grass hand-woven into the delightful baskets and mats is Sikki work. Patharkatti in Gaya district with its abundance of blue black pot stone is famous for carving out Idols of Buddha and stonework.

Maharashtra

Is a land of  scholars, saints and actors also known for its World famous Ajanta ,Ellora caves (UNESCO World Heritage Site) .The rich culture and heritage stem from its countless traditions and art forms that have been preserved over the centuries and even today finds inspiration from the cave paintings. The Captivating and Colourful artforms such as Warli paintings, Ganjifa Playing Cards , Chitrakatha or the Paithani Paintings and Bidirware which symbolizes creative energy inspired by the historical paintings and modern day elements. The craft of lacquer started in Sawantwadi.

Assam

Richness of Arts & Handicrafts of Assam beautifully reflects splendour of its culture. Craftsmen here have long perfected the art of creating wonderful objects from very ordinary products . Being rich in bamboo & cane reserves, handicrafts made from Cane and bamboo have remained inextricable parts of life in Assam. Other notable items from this state are Muga silk which occupies a prized place in the world of Silks & Masks made of wood, terracotta or Metal revolves around their tribal myth & folklore & have found their way to the modern-day drawing rooms as ornamental items and wall-hangings.

Kerala

Besides its enchanting scenic beauty, Kerala is admired for its rich cultural heritage that has been kept alive through its handicraft. Beautiful backwaters surrounded by coconut trees which is Kerala, and that becomes the central theme of all their handicraft items that are carved and woven around this tree. Artisans of Kerala expertise in carving metal & wood (rosewood and sandalwood), paintings of elephants, coconut shell, coir & cane products, beautiful metal mirrors and oil lamps is considered among the finest specimens of the rich culture. Andhra Pradesh

The land famous for its pearls, biryani & Kuchipudi dance, Andhra Pradesh is a  state with a harmonious blend of Buddhist, Islamic and Hindu influences. The diverse traditions and cultures clearly reflect in the versatility of the state’s art, architecture and craft. It is home to some of the most intriguing & popular art and craft forms like kalamkari painting, Nirmal painting, Banjara embroidery, silver filigree work,Kondapalli wooden toys,  Etikoppaka lacquerware toys, brassware, and tollubommalu or leather puppets.

Jharkhand

Known for its rich Legacy of tribal cultural is home to over 30 Indigenous tribes .Clusters setup all over the state helps unveil its rich legacy of tribal cultural & helps artisans sustain their livelihood .Jharkhand known for its Dhokra art, Terracotta crafts , Cane & Bamboo crafts is also famous for Paitkar paintings . This painting is also called Scroll Painting is mainly based on the theme of what happens to human life after death. It is considered as one of the most ancient schools of painting in India which represents a creative expression of the folk art of Jharkhand and the adjacent states. The five clusters of Dhokra specialise in unique and exquisite Dhokra craft made from liquefied Bronze or copper. And the Bundu Cluster masters Terracotta craft.

Uttarakhand

Cradled in the lap of the lofty Himalayas, the state boasts of snow capped peaks, stealthy glaciers, meandering rivers , mist laden valley and exotic species of flora and fauna. Inspired by the flawless natural splendour the people of Uttarakhand had created and nurtured various forms of arts and crafts. It is famous for its temple architecture, wood carvings, paintings and traditional ornaments. Some of the finest quality of wool extracted from Sheep, Angora Rabbits and Pashmina Goats makes woollen products a dominant craft in this area.Mughal style of painting and paintings from Garhwal School of Paintings and murals like Aipan demonstrate skills of the natives. Candle making skills in the state are also at par excellence, there is an entire market in Nainital that is dedicated to this art.
