Baoli

Tea light holders honouring Rajasthan’s resilient women, casting shadows of strength and heritage.

Inspiration

In medieval Mewar, when nursemaid Pannadhai needed to protect young prince Uday Singh from the usurper Banbir, she found allies among the village women. During their daily water-fetching ritual, these women ingeniously concealed the prince within their procession, their songs and laughter masking his escape. This prince later founded Udaipur and became father to the legendary Maharana Pratap.

Drawing from this powerful legacy, Baoli presents a collection of tea light holders that honors Rajasthan’s resilient daughters. When illuminated, these pieces cast intricate shadows that mirror the desert’s austere beauty, serving as storytelling vessels that celebrate the quiet strength of women who preserved life in harsh landscapes.
