Sage Garga, the celestial chronicler of ancient India, once explained the cosmos to a young prince through a circle of glowing diyas. ‘Just as Lord Brahma placed the Sun at the center of our universe,’ he said, ‘each planet dances in its ordained orbit, neither straying too far nor drawing too close – a perfect cosmic rhythm that has sustained life since creation.’
Inspired by this timeless wisdom, Graha reimagines this celestial dance through an innovative lighting system. At its heart, a central light represents Surya, the Sun, emanating constant, radiant energy. Surrounding this centerpiece are orbiting tealights symbolizing the planets, each fixed in its unique path yet drawn to the central glow, just as the ancient texts described in the cosmic dance of the Navagrahas.
This dynamic arrangement creates a mesmerizing interplay of light and shadow, mirroring the cosmic balance of gravitational forces and independent motion that Sage Garga described ages ago. Like his illuminated lesson to the prince, Graha transforms any space into a miniature universe, offering both functional illumination and a contemplative artistic statement that invites viewers to ponder their place in the grand cosmic scheme.
