Shravan

A Channapatna-Dokra fusion dry fruit bowl, honoring the Ramayana’s tale of devotion and respect for elders.

Inspiration

“Shravan” is an art piece in the form of dry fruit bowls from Chennapatna carried on the shoulders of the Dhokra figurine bringing out a unique fusion of two Indian crafts. This centrepiece adds both aesthetic and cultural value to interiors, standing as a reminder of the enduring virtues of devotion and respect for one’s elders.

“Shravan” by Nirantharaa draws on the iconic tale from the Ramayana, where Shravan exemplifies deep filial devotion by carrying his aged parents to sacred sites. This piece reflects values of devotion, duty, and respect for elders, reimagining the character’s journey as a blend of history and art. By combining the ancient Dhokra casting technique with the Channapatna toy craft tradition, “Shravan” honors the rich heritage of Indian artistry while narrating a story of love and reverence for family.
